A closer look at the 2025 recruiting class and some top Texas Longhorns signees.

Class Grade: A+

Steve Sarkisian secured the nation's top recruiting class (at this point, Texas is rated No. 1 per 247Sports), landing multiple five-star prospects and crucial in-state victories that propelled Texas to the top spot nationally. The class was capped by Michael Terry's addition on Signing Day and a late flip from four-star CB Kade Phillips, rounding out a group that includes six of TXHSFB's Top 20 prospects.

Three Key Additions

Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?

S Jonah Williams (6'2, 205) - Galveston Ball: Projected to play safety at Texas, his impressive size and range make the state's No. 3 prospect and DCTF five-star a game-changer. Also one of the state’s top baseball prospects, Williams plans to play both sports at Texas, with eyes on the MLB Draft.

Jaime Ffrench (6'2, 205) - Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin: National recruit who has the size and field-stretching ability to be the next freshman breakout in college football.

DE Lance Jackson (6'5, 260) - Texarkana Pleasant Grove: While Jackson also excels at tight end, his upside is higher on defense, where his powerful bull rush, heavy hands, and speed make him a matchup nightmare. His brother, Landon, is an All-American DE at Arkansas.

Fan Favorite

What prospect was a fan favorite or a local hero who starred near the campus?

WR Kaliq Lockett (6'2, 175) - Sachse: Lockett's commitment to Texas came right after the loss of Dakorien Moore to Oregon, making his timing perfect for the fan base to rally behind him. He was also highly active on the recruiting trail, encouraging other top recruits to join the class.

Super Sleeper

We pick one prospect on the commit list and explain how he might outplay his ranking in college.

Jackson Christian (6'5, 310) - Port Neches-Groves: Christian, a veteran with over 40 varsity starts, is a cornerstone of PNG's offensive line. His film demonstrates his ability to seal off linebackers and block in space, showcasing impressive athleticism for his size.
