A closer look at some of the top Baylor Bears signees in the 2025 recruiting class.
Class Grade: B
A revamped recruiting approach, fueled by a more competitive NIL strategy and the youthful energy of assistant coaches Khenon Hall and Matt Powledge, propelled the Bears up more than 20 spots in the national rankings. Questions about coaching stability were quieted with the foundation of a winning season and improved play under center.
Three Key Additions
Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?
WR Taz Williams Jr. (6'0, 180) - Red Oak: The state's most offered prospect picked the Bears in one of the most shocking commitment announcements of the year. Despite missing most of his senior year due to injury, Williams is set to return to full health soon and bring his explosive burst to the Big 12, where he’ll be a nightmare for defenders.
DE Kamauryn Morgan (6'4, 230) - South Oak Cliff: The four-star disrupts passing lanes and consistently pressures opposing quarterbacks. A dominant one-on-one matchup, Morgan combines speed and length to outmaneuver blockers effectively.
RB Michael Turner Jr. (5'11, 190) - Richland: His blend of 4.4 speed, acceleration, cutback vision, and tackle-breaking power makes him one of the state's most dynamic playmakers. A constant scoring threat, he earned RB MVP honors at The Under Armour Camp in Dallas.
Fan Favorite
What prospect was a fan favorite or a local hero who starred near the campus?
Edward Griffin III (6'2, 205) - Coppell: Over two seasons, Griffin was one of the state's winningest (24 wins) and most proficient passers, completing 74% of his passes for 6.604 yards and 84 touchdowns. The DCTF three-star is rated as the No. 5 QB in the state.
Super Sleeper

Jackson Blackwell (6'5, 300) - Lorena: His strength at the point of attack makes him an immovable force in the trenches. Power is overwhelmingly his defining trait.
