Lexington (3-0) at Groesbeck (3-0): It’s a surprise matchup of 3-0 teams in Central Texas this week. Lexington being unbeaten isn’t a surprise, but the firepower that Jerry Bomar’s Goats have displayed early in the year has been among the bigger surprises in the CenTex. Lexington made quite the statement last week with a dominant 66-7 win over Rockdale, as QB Kase Evans threw for 285 yards and five touchdowns and was relaxing on the sidelines early in the third quarter. Groesbeck got pushed last week, but the Goats slipped past Centerville, 37-34, on the strength of three long touchdown receptions by sophomore ATH Jordan Smith. Groesbeck’s defense has struggled early on and although they’ll get some big plays against Lexington, they won’t be able to keep up with the Eagles. Lexington pulls away in the second half.

Stepp’s Pick: Lexington by 15
