El Paso El Dorado (3-0) at El Paso Eastwood (2-1): Two of El Paso’s most explosive offensive attacks hook up in a measuring stick showdown with district play approaching. 5A El Dorado rolled past 6A El Paso Montwood, 49-28, last week as junior RB Ryan Estrada had a monster night with 295 rushing yards and four scores. Estrada battled injuries most of his sophomore year and him being healthy makes the Aztecs a dangerous team in 5A Division I. Eastwood has bounced back nicely from a season-opening loss in California with two straight wins, including a 56-49 road win at Odessa High last week. It was a balanced effort from the Troopers' potent offense, as QB Joseph Cox accounted for more than 400 yards of offense and a pair of touchdowns, while RBs Jayden Martinez and Nathan Chavaria combined for 288 yards rushing and five scores. Expect an absolute shootout, but Eastwood’s defense will be locked in on Estrada and will try to force someone else from El Dorado to beat them.
