DCTX: Best Practices and Rules for Community Forum & Game Chats

Our community forums and live game chats are places for fans to connect, share, and celebrate Texas sports. These spaces are operated by Dave Campbell’s Texas Sports (the corporate parent of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and Texan Live). To keep the conversation respectful, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these rules:

1. Respect and Conduct

· Treat others with courtesy. Harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks will not be tolerated.

· Keep discussions focused on sports and related topics.

o Posts unrelated to sports - including spam, self-promotion, politics, religion, or current events - are not permitted.

· Healthy debate is welcome, but hostility is not. Critique the idea, not the person.

o Posts calling for coaches to be fired, players to be benched, or other personal judgments will be removed.

o Remember: these are high school athletes (often minors) and public-school employees. Context matters - keep the conversation fun, fair, and in the spirit of the game.

2. Content Standards

· No profanity, obscenity, discriminatory language, or posting of illegal/explicit material.

· Do not share false or misleading information.

· Protect privacy: do not post personal information (yours or others’).

3. Moderation and Enforcement

· Moderators may edit, move, or delete posts that break these rules.

· Any violation may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.

· Access to subscriber-only boards or premium chats may be revoked without refund if rules are violated.

· Users may flag objectionable posts. Any post flagged twice will be automatically removed from the site.

· All moderation decisions are final. Reasons for actions may not always be disclosed.

4. Subscriber Benefits

· Forums and game chats are just one part of your subscription. If access is removed, all other subscription benefits remain available.

5. Our Rights

By using our forums and chats, you agree that Dave Campbell’s Texas Sports may:

· Remove posts at any time.

· Restrict or revoke access to forums or chats.

· Take any action deemed necessary to protect the integrity and safety of the community, which may include sharing your email address and user account information with appropriate public-school officials in the event of a rules violation.
